Ultimate ChampionChapter 31
Your progress
Chapter 31 —Ultimate Champion
6th Rival Battle
After defeating all of the trainers on Victory Road, you have reached the entrance of the Elite Four pathway. While you are moving forward to the first room, a familiar figure comes to meet you. It's Tess who has managed to get this far through the victory road. And she's here to fight you one last battle before moving on to the real challenge. Remember that Tess is specialised in using Dragon Types, even stronger than the previous battle and she will go all out against you. It's recommended that you should use Ice, Fairy and Dragon-type Pokémon and moves to have an upper hand when facing her. Make sure to have your Pokémon all heal up to not be under prepared.
Tess has the following Pokémon :
After defeating Tess, she heals your Pokémon and wishes you good luck for the Elite Four trainers ahead. She will continue to heal your Pokémon for you, if you fail to defeat the Elite Four at any point.
The Elite Four
This place includes some of the toughest trainers in the game. Unlike most other trainers you fought previously, every member here has some more advanced strategies that makes their battle even harder. All Elite Four members use 5 Pokémon in battle, each having one Legendary/Mythical Pokémon and one Pokémon that can Mega Evolve. The champion uses a team of 6 with 2 Legendary/Mythical Pokémons and one Pokémon that can Mega Evolve.
There are many factors that contribute to the difficulty of the Elite Four and Champion. All Pokémon you have to fight are over Level 92 while the Champion is using Pokémon over Level 96 so your Pokémon needed to be at least be over Level 90 or even reaching to Level 100 to have the best possible chance to match up against them.
Important note that there's no way to go back after you have entered the first room of the Elite Four, you can only go forward to the next challenger. This also means that you can't go back to the Pokémon Centre to heal up your Pokémon, use the RTD and change your team. You can only use Potions to heal them up so make sure to stockpile a lot of Potions and Revives. Additionally you can't not recover back the PP of your Pokémon's moves without going to the Pokémon Cent re. You may be able to use TMs and HMs to reteach a move with full PP back but for most other moves you need to use them cautiously to make sure they won't run out of PP when you need them the most.
First Member, OldSchoolDude
Entering the first room is a steel type room is well decorated with steel pipes, rusty metal material and objects, two spotlights in the centre and the Pokeball emblem on the ground. Inside you will meet the first member of the Elite Four, OldSchoolDude. He warns the player that their battle will not be easy. Oldschooldude was a main developer of PBB, and his character was last seen in the Skitty Lodge on Route 16, with the same avatar.
He specialises in Steel Types, so it is highly advisable to have Fighting, Fire and Ground type moves to counter. Take each Pokémon individually, however, as each has their own threats and secondary typing.
Some noteworthy threats that he has is Jirachi. Thanks to Jirachi's Serene Grace ability and its high speed via Choice Scarf, not only it will often attack first but after successfully attacked with Iron Head the opposing Pokémon will have a 60% chance to get flinched. If you want to beat avoid getting wiped by it, some counter you can use is by having a priority move, have your speed increased beforehand, use a Pokémon that has any ability to prevent flinching or be lucky to not get flinched. His Mega Metagross is also a potent threat. With its high bulk, speed and power, it is a powerhouse not to be messed with.
Once defeating OldSchoolDude, you can progress to the next room, which has the next Elite Four member.
Second Member, JamiyJamie
Entering the second room filled with crystals, snow and ice, you will meet the second member of the Elite Four, JamiyJamie. He is also based off a real user - JamiyJamie was a PBB Moderator and a popular PBB Youtuber and competitive player with over 100k subscribers.
Elite Four member JamiyJamie specialises in Ice Types so it is highly advisable to have Fighting, Rock, Steel and Fire type moves to counter. Take each Pokémon individually, however, as each has their own threats and secondary typing.
His team is built around the weather Hail which gives his team many benefits. As his team are all Ice types they won't lose their health for each turn, while your Pokémon will losing health per turn. Hail also makes his Alolan-Ninetales' Blizzard never miss which can do some good damage. Hail even activates Cetitan's Slush Rush ability which makes it twice as fast, becoming a tanky, powerful and super fast threat. Kyurem and Mega Glalie have explosive attack that can decimate your team. Quite literally for Mega Glalie as it has Explosion which got stronger thanks to the ability Refrigerate.
Once defeating JamiyJamie, you can progress to the next room, which has the next Elite Four member.
Third Member, OurHero
The Fighting type room is well decorated with gym-like equipment like racks with weights, punching bags. This also the place where the third member of the Elite Four reside. Like OldSchoolDude, OurHero is based off a former member of the PBB Development Team too - OurHero was a large contributor to the production of the game.
Elite Four member OurHero specialises in Fighting Types so it is highly advisable to have Fairy, Flying and Psychic type moves to counter. Take each Pokémon individually, however, as each has their own threats and secondary typing.
Although his team doesn't have any unique advantages, that doesn't make him less challenging. All of his Pokémon may not be super fast but they can deal a lot of damage and still have solid bulk. Annihilape's Rage Fist progressively becoming more deadly the more attack it takes. Breloom with Technician can help its Mach Punch and Bullet Seed do some serious damage. His Mega-Heracross has a super high attack that can decimate even a Pokémon with good bulk.
Once defeating OurHero, you can progress to the next room, which has the final Elite Four member.
Fourth Member, Srybon
The fourth and final trainer of the Elite Four is Srybon. Similarly to the other Elite Four members, Srybon is based off a former member of the PBB Development Team too - Srybon was a lead developer in the production of the game. His room is well decorated with bookshelves with books, psychic orbs, purple flames.
Elite Four member Srybon specialises in Psychic Types so it is highly advisable to have Bug, Ghost and Dark type moves to counter. Take each Pokémon individually, however, as each has their own threats and secondary typing.
His team receives many benefits from the Psychic Terrain that gets set up by Indeedee. Including boosting the power of Psychic moves for Pokémon like Armarouge and Hatterene to deal more damage. The Terrain also prevents them from taking damage any priority attack when active. His Mega Alakazam is very fast and very deadly, an opponent you should be cautious about when fighting against.
Once defeating Srybon, you can progress to the Champions Room, which has the Roria Champion.
Champion of Roria, Brad
The Champion's Room
After defeating the final Elite Four member, Srybon, player progress to the Champions Room to battle the Roria Champion and replace him, gaining the title of Champion of Roria.
It turns out that the Champion of Roria is none other than Brad, who was introduced previously as a friend of Tess, upon entering Port Decca from Cosmeos Valley. The battle with Champion Brad is the final, ultimate trainer battle, where you cannot use any items or heal any Pokémon during the battle. Thus, it is advised to heal all of your Pokémon before entering the Champions Room, and save the game with Autosave turned off before the battle as losing will reset you back to the first Elite Four member.
His team of 6 Pokémon consists of Pokémon of many types that makes them harder to defeat.
Many of his Pokémon are built to punish people who use physical attacker Pokémon. With his Glimmora not only can also set up Spikes manually but when it got hit by any physical attack, Glimmora's Toxic Debris ability will activate which will automatically set up a layer of Toxic Spike.
His Rotom-Wash and Landorus-Therian also have a way to punish physical attackers. With the former having Will-O-Wisp to cut power of physical attacks in half, while the latter have Intimidate ability to reduce the opponent's physical attack upon switching in. These two also have Volt Switch and U-turn in their movepool respectively which keeps making them constantly switching, not only doing damage at the same time but also make themselves avoid incoming attack and let the other take the hits.
Heatran and Gholdengo both possesse steel type with another secondary type. This makes them have many resistances and doing any good damage would be difficult.
Mega Salamence is a dangerous threat if not taken out quickly. Before mega evolve it will activate its Intimidate ability, giving it more survivability beforehand. Mega Salamence always uses Dragon Dance on its first turn, giving you an opportunity to dish out big damage. However if you fail to beat it quickly, Mega Salamence will rampage through your team with Doubles-Edge and Facade all got boosted by Aerilate, annihilate most Pokémon that doesn't resist Flying moves.
Good luck in this fight, trainers!
After defeating the Brad, you will be crowned as Champion and receive the Champion badge. You will also have your Pokémon team displayed in the Hall of Fame before the credit plays. After that, the players are transported back to where it all began, in their home in Mitis Town.
Remember, this isn't the end of your story and your journey will continue...
