The Elite Four is a long pathway towards different sections that contain four different trainers. These trainers are the greatest challenges and most difficult trainers to battle in Roria, and specialize in different types. Following them is a room in which the Champion of Roria awaits. Royally decorated with banners, and statues of the trainers on both sides, the path to Roria's ultimate challenge stems from Victory Road and bridges over terrain indifferent from Cosmeos Valley, where the entrance to the Roria League resides.
Notable Events
6th Rival Battle
Tess, making her way towards the player before the Elite Four.
As you approach the entrance towards the first Elite Four room, Tess enters the Elite Four area. She runs over towards the player and exclaims that she wants to have one last battle, saying that she won't hold back. Players are warned that her team is more powerful than the battle in Frostveil, with higher levels and a 6th Pokemon, Flygon, that are not easy to defeat. Note that Tess is a Dragon Type trainer, making Ice, Fairy and other Dragon Pokemon useful to bring into the battle.
Tess has the following Pokemon:
After defeating Tess, she heals your Pokemon and wishes you luck for the Elite Four trainers ahead. She will continue to heal your Pokemon for you, if you fail to defeat the Elite Four at any point. One interesting thing to note, is that all elite four members seem to have one legendary of their respective typing on their team.
The Elite Four Members
The Elite Four are 4 of the strongest trainers in Roria. Once you enter each room, you cannot go back out, use the RTD, or swap Pokemon so make sure you are well prepared for all of the battles, with enough healing and revives for in between each. Until the Champion, you can use items during and in between battles.
Elite Four, OldSchoolDude
OldSchoolDude is the first trainer, his avatar has a backwards red cap, a red and yellow troll-face shirt, black pants and red shoes. He warns the player that their battle will not be easy. Oldschooldude was a main developer of PBB, and his character was last seen in the Skitty Lodge on Route 16, with the same avatar.
He specialises in Steel Types, so it is highly advisable to have Fighting, Fire and Ground type moves to counter. Take each Pokemon individually, however, as each has their own threats and secondary typing.
The steel type room is well decorated with steel pipes, rusty metal material and objects, two spotlights in the centre and the Pokeball emblem on the ground. Once defeating OldSchoolDude, you can progress to the next room, which has the next Elite Four member.
Elite Four, JamiyJamie
The second trainer of the Elite Four is JamiyJamie. He is also based off a real user - JamiyJamie was a PBB Moderator and a popular PBB Youtuber and competitive player with over 100k subscribers. His character in game has the same model - a yellow character with a white hoody, white headphones, spiky black hair, a black scarf bandana and two extra yellow heads.
Elite Four member JamiyJamie specialises in Ice Types so it is highly advisable to have Fighting, Rock, Steel and Fire type moves to counter. Take each Pokemon individually, however, as each has their own threats and secondary typing.
The ice type room is well decorated with crystals, a snowy floor with ice, two spotlights in the centre and the Pokeball emblem on the ground. Once defeating JamiyJamie, you can progress to the next room, which has the next Elite Four member.
Elite Four, OurHero
The third trainer of the Elite Four is OurHero. Like OldSchoolDude, he is based off a former member of the PBB Development Team too - OurHero was a large contributor to the production of the game. His character in game has the model representing him - a character with a spherical face, red shirt and red domino hat with antlers.
Elite Four member OurHero specialises in Fighting Types so it is highly advisable to have Fairy, Flying and Psychic type moves to counter. Take each Pokemon individually, however, as each has their own threats and secondary typing.
The Fighting type room is well decorated with gym-like equipment like racks with weights, punching bags hanging from the ceiling, two spotlights in the centre and a red floor representing the Fighting type colour, with the Pokeball emblem. Once defeating OurHero, you can progress to the next room, which has the final Elite Four member.
Elite Four, Srybon
The fourth and final trainer of the Elite Four is Srybon. Similarly to the other Elite Four members, Srybon is based off a former member of the PBB Development Team too - Srybon was a lead developer in the production of the game. His character in game has the avatar representing him - a character with a black suit, shiny dark blue trousers and black sunglasses, a dark purple bowtie and a purple fedora.
Elite Four member Srybon specialises in Psychic Types so it is highly advisable to have Bug, Ghost and Dark type moves to counter. Take each Pokemon individually, however, as each has their own threats and secondary typing.
The Psychic type room is well decorated with bookshelves with books, psychic orbs, purple flames, two spotlights in the centre and a purple ground, with the Pokeball emblem. Once defeating Srybon, you can progress to the Champions Room, which has the Roria Champion.
Champions Room
After defeating the final Elite Four member, Srybon, players can progress to the Champions Room to battle the Roria Champion and replace him, gaining the title of Champion of Roria.
It turns out that the Champion of Roria is none other than Brad, who was introduced previously as a friend of Tess, upon entering Port Decca from Cosmeos Valley. The figure of Champion Brad is a Robloxian character with black jeans, a blue T-shirt, small necklace and dark brown hair. The battle with Champion Brad is the final, ultimate trainer battle, where you cannot use any items or heal any Pokemon during the battle. Thus, it is advised to heal all of your Pokemon before entering the Champions Room, and save the game with Autosave turned off before the battle as losing will reset you back to the first Elite Four member.
The Champion's Room
Champion Brad's Pokemon range in typing - however, there are notable dangers when battling him. All of his Pokemon are Level 96 or above, meaning they require extra strength to defeat. His starting Pokemon, Glimmora, has the ability Toxic Debris, which sets Toxic Spikes on your team that can poison your Pokemon upon entering. Also, his Rotom-wash has Levitate and is only weak to one type of attacks - Grass. It has the Electric type move Volt Switch, and his Landorus has the Bug type move U-Turn, which allows it to attack players' Pokemon, before retreating to another. Finally, his final Pokemon is a Mega Salamence, which has powerful moves that can one shot Pokemon. So, it is advised to have a Pokemon that resists its moves and can deal a super effective move.
After defeating the Champion and receiving the Champion badge, players are transported back to where it all began, in their home in Mitis Town.
Items
- Gifted by Champion Brad upon defeating him
Trivia
- It is unknown how Tess managed to enter the Pokémon League, as it requires trainers to have all 8 of Roria's gym badges... Maybe Tess has been secretly collecting them all. It is also unknown whether or not Tess knew Brad was the Champion of Roria.
- In Loomian Legacy, Tess is briefly shown with all 8 gym badges on her backpack.
- The battle with Elite Four, JamiyJamie is among the very few battles in the game where the opposing trainer has a Pokemon that is unobtainable to players - JamiyJamie has a Kyurem. Another notable example is Artist Stan on Route 8 who owns a Smeargle.
- They are also among the only battles in the game where the opponent has a Legendary/Mythical Pokemon. OldSchoolDude has a Jirachi, JamiyJamie has a Kyurem, OurHero has a Terrakion, Srybon has a Mew and Champion Brad has a Landorus and Heatran.
- The music that plays during the Elite Four battles has some coincidences:
- The music playing during the first Elite Four battle (Steel type) is the same as the music played during the 2nd (Fire) and 5th (Ground) gyms - Fire and Ground are both super effective against Steel. This music also plays during the final Elite Four battle
- The music playing during the second Elite Four battle (Ice type) is the same as the music played during the 3rd (Water) gym - Water resists Ice.
- The music playing during the third Elite Four battle (Fighting type) is the same as the music played during the 4th (Flying), 6th (Grass), 7th (Dark) and 8th (Ghost) gyms - Flying, Grass, and Ghost all resist or are strong against Fighting (while Dark is weak to it)
- The music that plays during the Champion battle is unique, and was originally designed by Alpha Wolf Music in the original PBB when it never had a chance for usage:
- It is likely that Champion Brad's character is based off of the former head developer, creator and owner of PBB, tbradm.
- Champion Brad is the 2nd opponent to have all of their Pokemon with competitive battling items - after Captain B. in the Crescent Gym. He also has the highest level Pokemon in the game, with the only level 100 Pokemon - Mega Salamence. As a result of the difficulty, he gives the largest money prize, of $100000
