Unfinished AreasUnfinished Areas
Town Map of Roria.
The development of the original "Pokemon Brick Bronze" was unexpectedly cut short with a take down from the Pokemon company on April 21st 2018. This left many questions unanswered regarding hidden secrets, locations, and what would have been in the works from the owners tbradm and Lando64000. Both the storyline and pokedex are two areas which we eventually may have seen fill in before the game finished. Below are ideas on what could have possibly been working around existing locations in PBB.
Locations
This section contains spoilers!
There are currently 18 known routes, 5 revealed towns and 7 explored cities in Roria. The potentially unfinished areas or locations will be listed below in order of when you can first reach the area in the game.
Main Island
| Location | Description | Speculation | Image |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mitis Town | The "Archaeology Site" or "Digging Site" where we the players first meets their parents at the beginning of the game. | This cave was where the parents dug up the Bronze Brick that the player was entrusted to. Because of the connection of the Bronze Brick with Arceus, this cave may have potentially seen the player entering it in the future, likely endgame, where they could catch Arceus. | |
| Silvent City | This "Cellar" as it is called, leads into the ground from an open electrical fence opposite the Silvent Gym. | A number of different Pokemon or Labs have been speculated to be here. In a previous version of PBF, you could find Regieleki here, and this may be the best choice. However, while the original developers may have been planning for an electric type to be here, the location also works for Type Null, a true 'artificial' Pokemon which would be found in a Secret Lab within this cellar - either here, or the Skitty Lodge (below) | |
| Route 4 | Directly after Silvent City, on the main path of Route 4, there is a cave blocked off with rocks. | The consensus is that this cave was likely for Mewtwo after defeating the Roria Champion. It would either be a puzzle style cave with different paths to traverse, leading to it - or it would have been like an "Unknown Dungeon" with Mewtwo in the centre. | |
| Old Graveyard | At the far end of Old Graveyard, opposite the Workshop, is a blocked off stone building. | While this may have been decoration, it could also have been used for a Pokemon such as Darkrai to flee from it during a Halloween Event. It would then have been encountered on somewhere like Newmoon Island through a nightmare. Although, this is all speculation. | |
| Path of Truth | The entire Path of Truth feels like unfinished business, with a blocked off path on one end, and a Black/White door surrounded by gold on the other. | Probably one of the most well known secrets, led on by the black-white door and name, is that the Path of Truth was intended to be for Zekrom and Reshiram. Whether or not a Path of Ideals would also have been made is down to theory. | |
| Route 9 | A large white tree in the centre of Route 9. | This tree may have been linked to the Legendary Pokemon Xerneas. A man stands in front of the tree telling a tale which very much may be about Xerneas and Yveltal. | |
| Fortulose Manor | An external Dungeon or Basement going underneath Fortulose Manor. | While this one is more likely to have been decoration rather than unfinished, there could still potentially be an improvised location here for an event, involving Ghost types or Halloween perhaps. | |
| Cragonos Mines | There are a lot of potential secret areas/ blocked doors in Cragonos Mines. Some blocked off intentionally perhaps - but 1 or 2, maybe not. | One potential secret could have been Yveltal. One of these rooms or spots could have had Yveltal's dormant cocoon, and there would be a quest revolving around it. As for the rest of the hidden spots, no one will ever know... | |
| Anthian City - Housing District | One or two large residential complexes destined to become apartments. | Not so much speculation, but confirmation from the original PBB that an apartments update will one day come to Project Bronze Forever | |
| Anthian City - Shopping District | A blocked off secret door by the sewage alleyways behind the shops. | Some speculated that this location could have had metal items or something related to Meltan. This was not the case, but it is an unfinished door nonetheless which could have a part in a future quest. | |
| Anthian City - Battle District | The definitive Roria Battle Frontier, under construction. | Different users have had multiple ideas on what the Roria Battle Frontier includes / could have included. A range of Pokemon and trainer battles, that's for sure. | |
| Anthian City - Park District | Next to the main Power Station entrance is a blocked side door. | A side room with electrical / metal equipment would be here. Or, this room would be part of a larger quest, and there would be something inside this room to collect, or a character to interact with. There could even have been a basement here. | |
| Desert Catacombs | Two small pedestals with a lot of encryped information. | This was the message in the Desert Catacombs: "A key representing Time/Space shall be placed here."
No doubt, it would have been related to Dialga/Palkia had the game been finished. | |
| Skitty Lodge | A strange trapdoor within the Skitty Lodge. | There could have been anything in the trapdoor. A secret room, lab etc. Type Null could be here if not in the Silvent City cellar. Otherwise, Maybe nothing massive would be here, but it was unfinished anyway. | |
| Freezing Fissure | From Route 16, Freezing Fissure - an abandoned mineshaft - contains suggestive design around an Ice-themed beast. | It was most likely an unfinished encounter location for Kyurem, the Ice-Dragon legendary. The location strongly resembles the abandoned mine from a Pokemon Movie where Kyurem roams in. | |
| Cosmeos Valley | Four purposeful large meteorites across Cosmeos Valley. | The consensus is that PBB was going to have a Deoxys event and that the meteorites would allow you to change between its four formes. A cool event that remains unfinished. | |
| Cosmeos Valley | A hidden cave entrance at the end of the river across Cosmeos Valley. | It is likely that if this was turned into a cave, it would have been well decorated, and used for a quest, whether it would have played a part in catching Cosmog, Deoxys or Rayquaza, it has been lost to time... | |
| Ocean's Origin | A blue pedestal with ancient markings at the end of the path. | This unfinished area was undoubtedly for the Kyogre encounter which was planned. It would have required obtaining the Blue Orb first to awaken it. | |
| Eclipse Base | In the Eclipse Base, the hangar has three massive doors. Only one of them were used to enter. | At least one of the other two doors in the Eclipse Hangar could have led to another secret later on in the unfinished storyline. Who knows what secrets it would have had. | |
| Route 18 | A peculiar treehouse that resembles a witch's hut. | As this was added late in the game, nobody knows what could have been inside here. Perhaps an item, a quest, or even nothing. | |
| Demon's Tomb | The cave where Hoopa Unbound awoke from. | There could have been more inside the cave later on - an extension to the area perhaps. Either this or Route 18 would have had a different entrance to a final Route 19 to the South end of Crescent Island. | |
| Victory Road | Two blocked off caves: one resembling time, the other space. | Most likely hinting to the obtainment of Dialga and Palkia, these caves would result in new areas where you can get the Adamant and Lustrous orbs. |
Outlying Island
| Location | Description | Speculation | Image |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lost Islands | A shipwreck right on the shore of Lost Islands. Abandoned for a long time, this crashed ship has the marking "Tess" on it. | With the fact that Tess's adventurous parents went missing, and this ship has their marking on it, they may have washed up on Lost Islands. People speculate that they may have ventured in a deeper section of Lost Islands, and are lost there. Or, another view is that they could even be trapped in Ultra Space and that the player will rescue them from Ultra Space with Tess and Gerald. | |
| Lost Islands | A secret cave you can access by surfing through the waterfall behind the cove of the smaller island where Waterium Z is | Either a small cave, or something such as a collectible TM or Item could have been added here. As with any secret area, it could also have been used when finding something for a future quest. | |
| Lost Islands - Deep Jungle | Cones in a section of Lost Islands - Deep Jungle, implying a continuation of the Lost Islands in a future planned update. | It is true that the Lost Islands were going to be updated and that more was supposed to be made. There were missing Tapu's and Z-Crystals after all, as well as Ultrabeasts. |
Trainers / NPCs
| Location | Description | Speculation | Image |
|---|---|---|---|
| Route 2 | This trainer on Route 2, has a party full of Skitty's. She states that she wishes to battle the Champion of Roria one day | While this could be nothing, there is a possibility that once you became the Champion of Roria, she would be able to rematch you. This could also have linked with the Skitty Lodge on Route 16. | |
| Brimber Gym | The Gym Leader of the Brimber City gym, Sebastian, is also the holder of the Red Orb. | It was expected that if PBB was finished, a quest involving Sebastian would lead to him trusting the player and giving the player the Red Orb. This could then be potentially brought to Mt. Igneus to encounter the Legendary Pokemon Groudon. | |
| Rosecove Beach | Tess's Grandpa, who lives in the lighthouse on Rosecove Beach, is also the holder of the Blue Orb. | It was expected that if PBB was finished, a quest involving the Grandpa would lead to him trusting the player and giving the player the Blue Orb. This could then be potentially brought to Ocean's Origin to encounter the Legendary Pokemon Kyogre. | |
| Anthian City - Battle District | Lace the Ace - An unfinished quest in PBB mentioned only once. | This man here, standing by the unfinished Battle Frontier, mentions Lace the Ace who was in a plane and crashed due to a "strange sky snake" by the far shore of Rosecove Beach. Speculations are led to believe this was Rayquaza. | |
| Poke Ball Emporium | Uncle Gerald - he had a big part in the original storyline when introducing the player to Anthian City | Gerald was a good friend and adventured with Tess's parents until they disappeared. It is expected that, if Tess's parents were to be found, Uncle Gerald would have played a part in the storyline. He also says that he met the Player's archeologist parents. | |
| Demon's Tomb | The Looker - A massive, unfinished part of the main PBB storyline, infamously released just before the take down. | People had many ideas on how the main storyline would have continued, that there could have been a new region entirely with new routes and gyms. The focus would have been on rescuing Jake, and the Looker would for sure have been involved intermittently. |
