Route 3 is a route that connects Route 2 and Silvent City. It starts from the gate for Route 2 and ends with a long staircase towards Silvent City. More than half of the Wild Pokémon encountered on this route belong to the Electric type. Being directly next to Silvent City, this route is also affected by a special magnetic field that allows certain Pokémon to evolve.

Description

In front of the gate from Route 2, Student Chase awaits the player with a Rock Climb slope behind him leading to TM23 Smack Down. Opposite to him is a fence with another patch of tall grass inside, hiding a bottle of Paralyze Heal. Proceed further and a wide patch of grass is seen with Rookie Adam slight to the left of this area. A pillar splits the path with Enthusiast Tiffany waiting on the right passage.

Turn right after the pillar and the path is split once again, with a grassy staircase on the left leading to Silvent City. The lower path leads to a Rock Climb slope shortcut with a Quick Ball between the trees, but Camper Jacob is waiting for a match directly opposite to the Quick Ball.

Trivia

  • The Quick Ball found on this route gives a convenient countermeasure to Abra's PsychicTeleport and makes catching Abra notably easier.
  • Under the influence of a special magnetic field, Magneton, Nosepass and Charjabug evolve into Magnezone, Probopass and Vikavolt respectively when levelled up on this route.
  • Camper Jacob's pre-battle dialogue is a reference to a Youngster Pokémon trainer in Pokémon Red and Blue, who introduces himself with the catchphrase "Hi! I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear!"
