Halloween is back in Roria. Version 26.3.0 is part 1 of this year's event: the Shadow Portal and Marshadow return from 2024, a shiny Halloween Haunter can show up in any wild encounter, Mimikyu comes out at night in Gale Forest, Gengarite H is back in the BP shop, and the Halloween Mew formes get their own typing and stats.

A portal opens every night

When night falls at 17:50, a Shadow Portal opens at one of seven spots, picked at random. It stays there until dawn at 06:30, and the next night it opens somewhere new. If you are already on that route when it opens, you see it appear. Move the clock or roll a few nights to see how it moves around.

Inside the Shadow Void

Walk into the portal and it flips you into the Shadow Void. Walk all the way to the far end, face forward and stand still. After three seconds, two eyes open in your shadow. Click them and Marshadow rises out of it for a battle, at level 40. Try it here first.

You get one battle with Marshadow per save file, so save before you go in. If you already met it during Halloween 2024, the eyes won't open for you this time. Walk back through the portal behind you to return to the route.

Mew-Ghost and Mew-Pumpkin, reworked

Mew-Ghost and Mew-Pumpkin came from codes as Mew with a Halloween look, but in battle they were still plain Mew: Psychic, 100 in every stat, Synchronize. Now each one has its own typing, stats and abilities. Mew-Ghost is a pure Ghost type with Perish Body or Cursed Body. Mew-Pumpkin is Grass and Ghost with Harvest. Both keep Mew's base stat total of 600 and move the points around. The ones you already have change too. Switch between Before and Now to compare.

Halloween Haunter

The Halloween Haunter is back. Any wild encounter on any route, day or night, has a 4 in 1600 chance to turn into it, which is 1 in 400. It is always shiny, and its level comes from the route's usual range. It does not show up on a fishing rod or in set encounters such as legendaries.

Mimikyu in Gale Forest

At night, Mimikyu takes Pikachu's place in the Gale Forest grass, at the same levels and the same rate. Pikachu comes back at dawn.

Gengarite H in the BP shop

Gengarite H is back in the BP shop for 200 BP. It only works on a shiny Halloween Gengar, which you get by evolving the Halloween Haunter above. Give it one and it Mega Evolves into Mega Gengar H. A regular Gengar can't use it, and a Halloween Gengar can't use the regular Gengarite. Mega Gengar H's base stats add up to 600, 100 more than Gengar, and 40 of those go into Special Attack.

Fixes

In 2v2 battles, replays and battle logs now name the Pokémon you actually brought. Before, if you picked party slots out of order, they listed slots 1, 2 and 3 instead. Pick a team below to compare.

• The Trade Resort has its Halloween build, which sits higher than the usual one. Your spawn point now moves with it, so you no longer spawn underneath.
• If you touch the portal just as dawn closes it, you still get into the Shadow Void instead of standing frozen in place.
• Going into the Shadow Void several times no longer leaves extra copies of the void loaded in the background.
